Qualifications:

Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from College or University.Industry experience essential, Amadeus knowledge preferred.Coding experience is must2 to 5 years experience in DevOps / Cloud Development/Automation DeploymentExperience with CI/CD pipeline, Using Cloudformation/Terraform for infrastructure as code.Coding in different languages for the purpose of IT Robotics / Automation.Track record of providing excellent operational support to end-users for a minimum of 2 years.Good to have any certifications in ITIL / AWSAbility to manage change within the support organisation.Ability to relate to, and communicate with, people and processes on all levelsAbility to act with minimal supervision, actively supervising and motivating staffGeneral understanding of full stack devops, analytics and testingAutomation and script generation using software such as python, C#, JavaScriptExperience collaborating with software development teams using version control systems and agile methodologies.Experience using data management and data analytics platforms                                                             Experience with AWS, Elastic Search, CI/CD Pipelines, GIT , NGINX, MongoDBSkilled and experienced at managing high tech hardware / software systems.Experience in software development life cyclesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood understanding for networkingExperience designing for scale e.g. using Docker etc, recommendedAwareness of emerging trends and developments in relevant technologiesSound time and resource management skillsExcellent analysis and problem-solving skills.Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary teamAmenable to work on a hybrid work setup

Purpose of the role:

The Support Automation and Deployment Engineer role is to dedicate the attention of a full time engineer to an ever-growing list of deployments, each with their own specifics. The role is also required to work end to end for any Project setup that include AWS infrastructure setup, networking, setup Deployment pipelines and implement monitoring solutions. This role is not a typical devops role, and requires a particular mindset, attitude and background skills. In particular it will require persisting through the sizeable learning curves, and being willing to rapidly adapt to new technologies.  The role is expected to be interactive with the rest of the Support Automation team and manage the all the asks within the team. The role also requires to be on call for any high priority operational issues

Job Scope:

Project Planning

Participate in the processes of strategic project-planning meetingsProviding guidance and expertise on system options, risk, impact and costs vs. benefitsCreate and share operational requirements and development forecasts to allow for timely and accurate planning of projects                                                                 

Development

Responsible for maintaining and supporting IT solutionsInstall and configure solutions, implement reusable components, translate technical requirements, assist with all stages of test data, develop interface stubs and simulators and perform script maintenance and updates                                                             

Deployment

Build automated deployment procedures through the use of configuration management technologyDeploy new modules and upgrades and complete fixes within the production environmentCreate modules ready for production, which entails moving them according to specific procedures and documenting knowledge transfer                                                     

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Routine application maintenance tasks are an ongoing responsibilityCreate requirements and procedures for implementing routine maintenanceTroubleshooting existing information systems for errors and resolving those errors                                                  

Infrastructure setup and Maintenance:

Design and implement infrastructure on AWS for new projects.Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting during high severity incidents on these environments.Be available as an escalation point according to a standby roster in order to maintain customer operations.
