Position Title: Support Desk & Inventory Technician Position Location: Smyrna, GA Salary DLB recognizes salary ranges from job boards do not necessarily reflect our pay ranges. Job Summary The Support Desk & Inventory Technician will play a critical role in ensuring company devices and peripherals are properly prepared, tracked, and shipped to end users. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end equipment deployment process, from ordering and inventory management to coordinating shipments through our warehouse facility and assisting with Tier 1/Tier 2 support for Windows devices and Microsoft 365 applications. Key responsibilities include preparing devices for new hires and hardware refreshes, processing returned devices from employee terminations, maintaining accurate inventory records, and responding to support desk tickets. Additionally, the Technician will assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, and perform administrative tasks in Microsoft 365 and Entra ID. DLB operates as a fully remote company across 35+ states. However, this role requires an on-site presence at our office space within a warehouse facility in Smyrna, GA, to effectively manage IT inventory and device deployments. The Support Desk & Inventory Technician will receive limited direction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new tasks or projects. They will work independently or under minimal supervision and communicate and operate in line with organizational goals, departmental objectives, and company values. Essential Functions Device Deployment & Inventory Management + Configure and deploy devices for new hires and hardware refreshes using Microsoft Autopilot. + Process and prepare returned devices from employee terminations to ensure they are ready for the next deployment. + Accurately track and maintain device inventory, updating records to reflect device status, ownership, and refresh cycles. + Coordinate hardware orders to ensure equipment and peripherals are available when needed. End-User Support & Help Desk + Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 help desk assistance for Windows devices, Microsoft 365 applications, and general IT issues. + Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, escalating more complex issues when necessary. + Document solutions and best practices for common technical problems to improve support efficiency. Onboarding & Offboarding + Assist with user onboarding by setting up devices, user accounts, and providing initial training on company technology tools. + Support offboarding procedures, including disabling user accounts and coordinating the return and reimaging of company devices. + Maintain clear communication with HR and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions. Microsoft 365 & Entra ID Administration + Perform basic administration tasks within Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, such as user provisioning, password resets, and license assignments. + Assist in group policy management, conditional access configurations, and other security-related settings in Entra ID. + Collaborate with senior team members on more complex M365 and Entra ID projects as needed. Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned Requirements Position Requirements + Experience in Device Deployment: Familiarity with Microsoft Autopilot, Windows OS, and standard hardware configuration. + Basic Inventory Management Skills: Ability to accurately track hardware and software assets. + Working Knowledge of Microsoft 365: Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint; awareness of administrative functions a plus. + Experience with Entra ID: Ability to perform basic user management tasks; exposure to group policies and conditional access beneficial. + Strong Troubleshooting Abilities: Experience providing end-user support for Windows devices and Microsoft 365 software. + Communication Skills: Ability to convey technical and non-technical information effectively, both orally and in writing. + Teamwork & Independence: Capable of working collaboratively as well as autonomously with minimal supervision. + Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technology; willingness to take on evolving responsibilities. + Organizational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting deadlines under pressure. Travel / Relocation Requirements + Daily travel to Smyrna, GA + Up to 5%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states + Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc. Education / Experience Requirements + Minimum of five years of experience in Information Technology. Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline can substitute for two years of experience.
