Description
As support engineer who will work on BSP automation tests and virtual platform, who contribute to proficient and qualitative delivery of multiple small-scale projects within the same product line or broader spectrum of work of a larger project. Stay customer focused, get the big picture and understand technical aspects of the why’s and how’s of the business to be able to influence ‘what’ the team is meant to deliver. Represent the team in external forums, drive high impact process improvement initiatives focusing on long term and sustained benefits.
Key job responsibilities
-Understand PDP and test scoping strategy. Work closely with QA/SDET to confirm test scope and allocate test runs.
-Collaborate with managers during operational planning to provide component or functional complexities, highlights risks, external dependencies and work on mitigation plan. Based on the changing business priorities, you provide inputs to the management to enable course correction in planning and execution.
-The role is instrumental in optimizing scalable processes and build documentation around the same to eliminate dependency. Be able to create SOPs and standardize test methods or processes under defined high-level test strategy.
-Actively mentors and develops DAs/SDAs cut across breadth and depth of the product, understand the training needs of the team from product, tools and technology standpoint and work with involved teams to enrich continuous learning in the team.
-Strive to optimize effective usage of the resources and ensure to scale them for future needs. To participate in hiring DAs/SDAs for team, enable and provide necessary support for their career growth.
-Focus on escape issues that are reported outside of team, but falls within the purview of team’s scope and fix the gap in coverage. Identify proactive measures to efficiently reduce quality misses and identify issues early on in the release cycle.
-Handle issue escalations, perform root cause analysis, provide data to the managers/stakeholders and own action items identified. Respectfully challenge the scope defined, change course of action and focus based on outcome or business priorities.
-Customer obsession by providing detailed background and customer impact for the issues reported by you and your team and actively follow up on issues that requires immediate attention. You represent all DA issues in external forums like launch readiness, defect triage meetings and influence external teams to fix issues highlighting impact on the product quality and customer experience.
-Provide technical assistance during implementation of initiatives and suggest appropriate tools. May work with tech and non-tech teams within and outside the organization, to clearly communicate the business requirements. Evaluate and provide inputs for building the infrastructure/technical needs of the projects.
About the team
We test components and features related to an Amazon Device, Application, or Service. We follow SOPs and execute tasks assigned to on a daily basis. Strive to meet productivity and quality baselines. We use required tools and follow relevant practices that facilitate smoother operations and eliminate process dependencies.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- Experience scripting in one or more language (e.g. Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby)
- 5+ years testing experience with solid knowledge of QA methodology and tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technically savvy in consumer use of software, computers and devices.
- Knowledge of Linux and Android
- Strong organizational skills, tracking multiple test executions simultaneously and be able to synthesize the results
