Work Status Details: Full Time | 72.00 Hours Every Two Weeks

Shift Details: M-F (7:45-4 M-TH and 7:45-2 Fr)
Department: Rehab Administration | Reports To: Office Manager


The mission of Faith Regional Health Services is to serve Christ by providing all people with exemplary medical services in an environment of love and care.

Summary:

Schedules and registers all patients in order for the department to run efficiently. Performs a wide variety of clerical functions that require application of independent judgment. Works closely with the staff sharing the responsibility of the day-to-day operation of the department. Keeps well informed of all policies and procedures and of any change in job functions. Work will include the operation of standard office equipment, computers, and responsible contact with the public.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Performs duties and responsibilities according to supervisor's direction, following department policies and procedures.

Greets and calls back patientsAnswers phone calls and takes messages accuratelySchedules patient appointmentsMaintains daily scheduleDemonstrates appropriate usage and repair procedures for office equipmentOpens/closes office dailyPerforms patient registrationsPerforms data entry for patient chargesFax documents for signatures and maintains patient chartsScan patient chartsTracks department statistics and formulates reportsTracks physician referrals and reports resultsCompletes monthly outreach billingManages equipment safely (shredder, fax machine, copier, printer)

2. Carries out duties and responsibilities of position without specific supervision. Ability to make decisions within prescribed limits.

3. Accurately performs duties as assigned or requested in a cooperative, professional manner.

4. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to use a word processor/computer proficiently to produce accurate business documents within requested time frames.

5. Demonstrates behaviors that promote positive customer relations with physicians, staff, patients and visitors.

6. Responsible for maintaining a departmental climate of helpfulness, openness, fairness, acceptance of criticism and discussion of ideas within the department.

7. Greets all individuals coming into the department, assisting them as required.

8. Resolves conflicts both within and outside the department in an expeditious manner.

 

Essential Organizational Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Promotes organizational mission, vision and values. Demonstrates respect and regardfor dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and co-workers to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment. Maintains a high level of professional responsibility and performance outlined in Faith Regional Health Services Performance Standards. Promotes effective working relationships and works effectively as part of a department team (inter- and intradepartmental) to facilitate the department’s/clinic’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.

2.Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure per organization policy. Pursues professional growth and development.

Practices within legal boundaries and according to organization policy and procedures.Attends continuing education programs in order to maintain licensure. Attends organization sponsored training programs as required.Maintains certifications as determined by department/clinic policy.

3.Functions as role model for current and new staff.

Facilitates problem resolution among coworkers as observed by management and peers.Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with coworkers and management toward the organization.Promotes the profession of healthcare workers in the community.Presents neat appearance in proper attire and identification as required by the position, department and the organization.Continuously displays a positive attitude within the department/clinic and across departmental lines to contribute to the overall customer service program.Serves in committees and assist with programs of the hospital to constantly improve the quality of health care and promote good public relations.

4.Completes all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.

5.Understands and adheres to Faith Regional Health Services Corporate Compliance Plan, Personal Conduct Policy, Grievance Process, Confidentiality, Safety & Security, Infection Control, HIPAA and other departmental and organizational policies, procedures and guidelines.

6.Must be able to remain awake and alert during working hours. Physical presence at facility is required during scheduled working hours to perform job functions. Work in a timely manner, within the time allotted for the shift per census count.

7.Performs other duties as assigned.

Hours will be dependent on patient census and workload. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, to include after-hours and weekends as necessary.
