Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.  Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines:  Reliability System Safety and Supportability.


What You Will Do:

Are you a senior level, technically adept Engineering professional with solid integrated logistics support knowledge and experience? Have you developed and implemented support concepts for new cutting-edge products in a fast-paced environment? Do you have the interpersonal skills that will enable you to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders in removing roadblocks and negotiating change? If so, please read on for the Life Cycle Engineering Center’s Sr. Principal Supportability Engineer role based in McKinney, TX.

As a Principal Supportability Engineer you’ll provide leadership and expertise in the 12 elements of Integrated Logistics Support. Your focus will be product support concept architecture development, planning, and execution on programs currently in the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) and Engineering, Manufacturing and Development (EMD) phases of the product lifecycle.

You’ll also have responsibility for providing program technical guidance, production of supportability products in alignment with contractual requirements, and oversight of supportability team schedule and budget. Additionally, you’ll participate in proposal capture for new business development as well as product support strategy execution for programs in later phases of the lifecycle.

Your responsibilities will include:

Integrating Reliability, Maintainability, Testability, Supportability, Logistics, and System Safety into product designs Translating customer requirements into executable engineering tasks that meet contractual obligations within cost and schedule boundariesEstablishing maintenance concepts and support systems framework and plans for life cycle sustainmentGuiding a team in development of maintenance engineering and logistics support productsPlanning and contributing to proposal effortsLeading internal and external customer reviewsRegular interface with Program Management, Functional Management, Customers, Suppliers, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, and EngineeringBriefing senior management on status and critical issues

This job is posted as ONSITE, and is based at Raytheon’s McKinney, TX facility.

This job requires approximately 10-15% domestic and international travel.


Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.Experience developing and executing product support and / or logistics support strategiesExperience with foundational logistics concepts, requirements allocation, support resource definition, support documentation development, field assessments, and /or in-service support.Experience supporting proposal development activities including Technical Volume content or cost Bases of Estimates (BOEs) Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience using logistics development standards such as S3000L, TA-STD-0017A , MIL-HDBK-502A, etc.Familiarity with Reliability predictions, Failure Reporting and Corrective Action (FRACA) process, Failure Mode and Effects analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), and Safety / Hazard AnalysisUnderstanding of system availability and maintainability data collection and analysisExperience in designing support systems, maintenance concepts, and platform level integration of airborne sensors Proven Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership experience Experience communicating with vendors and sub-contractors and developing Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs) Knowledge of, and ability to work within, the Agile Scrum development processEarned Value Management (EVM) certification or equivalent.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
