About the Position:
As a Supported Living Specialist, you would provide one on one support for adults with developmental disabilities as they interact with their communities. Your goal would be to provide respectful, personal, and motivating services that enable our clients to participate in all aspects of their community, and lead meaningful lives centered around independence and empowerment. You would assist our Supported Living management team in providing the day-to-day support of our clients. Ensuring client shifts are filled and support staff are trained in their duties, while advocating for and supporting clients in accessing the community. 

This role includes using your organizational and critical thinking skills to answer our Emergency Cellphone, arrange staff coverage, and directly respond to cover shifts with clients. 

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position working 5 days per week at 40 hours per week. This role requires you to have open availability 7 days a week, you would only work 5 out of the 7 days. You would need to travel throughout Alameda County, using your own vehicle. You would provide coverage for open shifts and for staff absences. The shifts worked would vary according to the support needs of our clients: day time, evening, overnights, and weekends will be included. The Specialist schedule will change every week based upon support needs.

Compensation: 

$27.26 per hour.You would also receive a $75 stipend on weekdays for holding the Emergency Cell Phone for 24 hour periods, and a $125 stipend on weekend days!

Who are we looking for?

High school diploma or equivalentTwo years experience working in the field of human service preferred. Someone who has an understanding and commitment to the philosophy of inclusion, access and consumer-driven services. Someone who has the ability to work cooperatively with consumers, their support systems, employers and other agencies. Someone who has the ability to solve problems independently and as part of a team.You must have possession of a valid California driver’s license, a driving record that meets agency standards, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.
