Summary About the Position: Serves as division chief, within a designated as a Major Defense Acquisition Program with responsibility for planning, directing, reviewing and coordinating the work of 10-12 professional employees engaged in executing the procurement and production activities required to develop, test, produce, and field the system. This is a pay banded position. The NH-04 encompasses grades 14 and 15 on the General Schedule. Responsibilities Supporting a variety of research, development, production, operational testing, and training exercises which require continuous management attention to assure items will be available to meet scheduled program requirements. Management surveillance of performance of the contract administration functions, through contract close-out . Performs the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties. Assigns work and establishes priorities. Specialized Experience: One year of experience which includes: 1) Developing long-range acquisition plans and acquisition strategy; 2) Possessing expert knowledge of procurement statutes; and 3) Managing contract aspects of the acquisition program. This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level NH-03 (GS-13) position in the federal service. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
