Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the Customer Requirement Division Chief in the Engineering Directorate, responsible for performing End-System Engineering and Design of G6 related solutions in all functional areas. Responsibilities Responsible for performing End-System Engineering and Design of G6 related solutions in all functional areas. Makes improvements, solves problems, or takes corrective action when problems arise; gives presentations or briefings on Engineering and Design projects. Identifies and updates project documentation requirements or procedures. Interpret changes to Federal, DoD, DA, USACE, and other regulations and requirements, to determine the extent of their impact on the present IM/IT systems. Develops and presents technical briefings for senior Army/DoD management and supported organizations. Recommend, design, and architect appropriate USACE IT technical strategies and solutions. Provides mentoring and assistance to G6 Engineering and Design team members, as well as other G6 groups, to increase the overall performance and effectiveness of G6. Stays current through self-tutoring in functional areas, researching evolving technological products and trends, and reading freely available sources of information on current and evolving technological products and trends. Recommend means for effectively and efficiently incorporating their provisions into the system. Specialized Experience: Must meet one year specialized experience such as: 1) Utilize extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of computer hardware and software technologies including: enterprise systems servers, high availability computing technologies, data storage subsystems, network architectures, various computer operating system software and application software; 2) Evaluates, monitors, or ensures compliance with laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures; participates in change control (i.e., reviewing and presenting configuration change requests); 3) Ensures that the IT designs follow standard industry DOD, DA and Corps of Engineers design principles and policies; 4) Coordinate with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and DA on changing USACE network communication paths to include a connection to NIPRNet at a regional site Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
