Responsibilities Summary The Supervisory Case Manager is responsible for the supervision of case management staff. Provides quality oversight for assigned supervision and/or rehabilitation program functions provided to clients. Learns, uses and models principles of the “What Works” system through evidence-based practices in all interactions with clients and other staff members. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Supervisory Case Manager plans, directs, and manages the duties of the case management staff. Oversees Case Managers by assisting them in their work, answering more difficult or complex questions, providing guidance and training to new staff and reporting to the Program Manager any unusual or complicated case management issues. The Supervisory Case Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of systems, in alignment with Company policies and procedures and principles of the '"What Works" system, to enhance operational efficiency and delivery of services to clients referred for supervision or treatment. Monitors the treatment methodology, procedures governing counselor documentation, and ensure program participants are working toward goals outlined in program model. The Supervisory Case Manager provides ongoing staff training within a specific office regarding the technical and participant management dimensions of Company's case management system, including effective integration of information, technology and treatment. Provides in-service training for staff in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring fidelity of the program is continuously monitored and upheld. Serves as an EBP coach working towards self and staff understanding, articulating, operationalizing, and coaching EBP. Utilizes scheduled and spontaneous coaching sessions to develop and train staff. Work closely with Program Manager (PM) on Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Assists in the completion of program outcome reports and data tracking as required by contract and/or requested by customer. Work closely with partnering agencies and community-based organizations. Will work with PM on community outreach efforts. Assists in planning and coordinating program events. Performs required quality assurance through coaching and regular audits of Case Management procedures to ensure standardized delivery of such services. Provides feedback and corrective action reports to staff. Ensures contractual obligations are consistently being met. Responsible for completing customer outcomes reports (per contract and/or as requested) and submitting by required deadline. Ensure clear, concise and timely communication with customer on a regular basis to ensure customer satisfaction. Trains and holds accountable Case Managers in areas of responsibility. Is involved with providing case management services and groups directly to participants using principles of the "What Works" system. May orient participants upon arrival at facility to provide smooth assimilation into program including explaining program rules and expectations, having them complete paperwork, take facility tours, or introduce to other participants. Regularly participate in case conferences and treatment team meetings. Maintains confidentiality obtained through job duties regarding employees, vendors, participants, and outside agencies so that sensitive information is only given on a "need to know" basis. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervises a group of non-exempt level employees. Adheres to attendance policy; may be required to work additional hours as needed to ensure adequate coverage of the program and to ensure the safety and security of the staff and participants. Complies with safety rules and procedures; takes appropriate corrective action to ensure work is performed in a safe manner and without injury to self or others. Communicates effectively with all levels of staff in a manner that promotes a team spirit and a sense of cooperation. Ensures clear and consistent communication is maintained with Program Manager. May step in and cover Program Manager tasks. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Two (2) years of experience in case management either through a correctional facility or in the social services field. Valid driver’s license required. Good knowledge of general office practices and procedures, including budget preparation and control. Must have knowledge of proper correctional philosophy and policy to assist the staff in all aspects of case/inmate management. Must be knowledgeable in the basic principles of inmate case management. Must be knowledgeable of general business practices and procedures with knowledge of principles, practices and methods used in case management. Ability to speak, understand and write clearly. Ability to deal effectively with the public, subordinates, and inmates. Ability to develop and implement new practices, policies and procedures. Ability to represent management when dealing with inmates. Ability to develop new practices and procedures. Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
