**HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT**
Continental Surface Solutions surface design team is an expanding team with the ability to create successful products for fast-paced and complex markets. Each team member is responsible for concept creation, as well as coordinating, managing, and understanding the process from concept to the final produced product. Surface design includes, but is not limited to, print and grain/texture design for automotive interiors and exterior decorative films. The design team designs aesthetically pleasing appearances, and also works with technical teams (such research and development, production, engineering) to ensure a successful product for the market space and customers.
The objective of this position is to learn, comprehend, and design according to process/product/market needs as well as customer needs and trends. This project includes, but not limited to, customer visits, plant supervision, and design skills (create presentations, adobe suite, and adaptive designing), and production support.
+ Create and design concepts based off of trends/mood boards or customer requests for acquisition business (LivTec and Auto customers)
+ Create small samples of selected concepts (approximately 20 prototyped samples done through our design center)
+ Successful understanding and support of product processes for printing topics for our most innovative new printed pool products
+ Collaboration with technical teams, sales, and product management to ensure product is produced successfully as sellable goods for market
+ Other advanced design topics and market/trend research to make sure we are staying competitive in the market
+ Product development (concept, file creation, prototyping, production preparation and technical checks, and production final product)
+ Market data research to acquire business within a highly competitive and fast paced market
+ Concept connection to trends and successful presentation of concepts that result in sold product
+ Research customer and market/region trends/product line
**THE ENVIRONMENT**
Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures and guidelines must always be adhered to. Applicants must be able to work in a manufacturing industrial environment and be able to wear personal protective equipment such as safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
**WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE**
+ Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student in a U.S. accredited college, university or technical college, with a minimum GPA of 2.8. Pursuing a degree in Design, Art, Graphic Design, Product Development, or a related field of study
+ Proficiency in Design Software (Adobe Suite & Adobe Photoshop), MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
+ Paid full-time summer internship
