Create original artwork and style vintage/bought artwork to meet the design objectives and contributes to achieving brand visionTransform artwork into dynamic layouts, re-color prints, create repeats and engineered artwork for textiles and other substrates including but not limited to PVC, PU, and leatherCollaborate with the design director each season to develop conceptual direction for the total artwork assortmentCollaborate with product design to create unique seasonal artwork that fits their silhouettes and the concept for each seasonWork with product design, product development, and material development throughout the development process to ensure artwork meets vendor, costing, and execution requirementsSet up artwork tech packs for selected artwork related to produced CAD (size, colors, placement, repeat, etc) and submit to cross-functional partners paying critical attention to detail ensuring quality and consistency as it relates to each item and collectionStay current on industry trends and artwork techniquesMaintain a high level of aesthetic judgement and effectively translate trends into artwork while cohesively creating an overall artwork collectionReview strike-offs and initial submits against artwork and comment on the surface design accuracy and executionMaintain art/color records in PLM and visual line toolTask Assistant/Associate Surface Designers, where appropriate, to complete projects on time and ensure their work meets objectivesContribute positively to the design team dynamic by performing all tasks with a willing attitude, strong sense of urgency, and dedication to the company by creatively designing into the brand aestheticOther tasks as needed or assignedEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEHigh school graduate.
