Surgical Care:
• Perform a wide range of surgical procedures, including general surgeries, trauma surgeries, and specialized operations.
• Conduct pre-operative and post-operative consultations, ensuring patients are well-informed and prepared for surgery.
• Develop and execute effective surgical plans, minimizing risks and enhancing outcomes.
Emergency Response:
• Provide immediate care for trauma and critically ill patients requiring surgical intervention.
• Lead the surgical team during emergencies, ensuring seamless and timely care.
Team Collaboration:
• Work closely with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other medical staff to provide comprehensive surgical care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to develop holistic treatment plans for complex cases.
Training and Mentorship:
• Guide and mentor junior doctors, medical interns, and surgical residents.
• Provide continuing education and training for staff to maintain high standards of surgical care.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
• Adhere to established surgical protocols, infection control standards, and patient safety guidelines.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient records, surgical notes, and follow-up plans.
Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated on advancements in surgical techniques and integrate new knowledge into practice.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital audits to enhance surgical services.
Minimum Qualification required:
Medical degree (MD, MBChB) and master’s degree in Surgery from a recognized medical institution.Licensed to practice by the Medical Council of South Sudan or similar regulatory authority.Minimum three (3) years of experience in general or specialized surgery.Commitment to patient care and ethical medical practices.Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills under pressure.Experience in working with NGOS in a fragile context is preferred.Personnel management and motivation expertise and experience.Excellent work experience in training facilitation and mentoring government staff.Demonstrated application of Do No Harm, including understanding of intended and unintended consequences of gender equality and social inclusion interventions, and risk mitigation approaches.Understands and is committed to WV’s vision, mission and core values.Fluency in English language, Arabic and the local languages is an added advantage.Applicant Types Accepted:
