Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
Under the direction of the Manager Nursing for Inpatient Surgery, the Surgery Scheduling Secretary is responsible for scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling all inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures. Coordinates appropriately with all hospital departments as appropriate for special surgical needs. Will also complete surgical charge reconciliation based on appropriate guidelines and ensure all surgical services charges are posted to patient accounts.

Licensing/Certification
Medical Terminology certification (preferred)
Education
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Vocational or technical Degree in Medical Terminology (preferred)
Work Experience
1 years previous surgery scheduling experience and clerical experience with extensive knowledge of medical surgical terminology. (required)
2 years previous surgery scheduling experience and clerical experience with extensive knowledge of medical surgical terminology. (preferred)
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology; Computer skills; Registration experience. (required)
