Surgery Patient Care Coordinator
**BluePearl** **Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital** **is a organized and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our Surgery Department in Midtown, NY.** **As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will a** **ct as** **a** **liaison between the front and back of the hospital by facilitating client/patient flow between the waiting room, exam rooms, CSR staff** **,** **and clinical staff, triaging medical phone calls, coordinating client/doctor communication, and performing ER visit follow-up calls for both locations. Evening, weekend** **,** **and holiday work across both locations may be** **required** **as part of the normal workweek.** **Schedule** : Wednesday - Saturday (8am-6pm) **Pay:** $25.25 - $36.30 / hour **This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.** We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example: + Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential + Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00 Shift Differential + Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential **As the Patient Care Coordinator, you will:** + Monitor the waiting/exam room clients; assist with refreshments/marketing materials; update clients on wait time/patient status + Maintain open communication with the doctor and technical staff to minimize wait times and maximize patient flow regarding long wait times + Coordinate patient flow between multiple specialties + Manage Cornerstone hospital census + Facilitate discharge appointments for all services + Perform patient discharges in coordination with the technical team + Manage patient discharge/visit board and exam rooms; ensure comfortable and timely visits & discharges + Check ER doctor message bin and triage messages for doctors; facilitate solutions for clients + Receive and address patient care telephone calls from the general public + Call previous day's ER clients for follow-up feedback for both locations **Why BluePearl?** + Our passion is pets. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours.
