Primary Objective\n

Efficiently and effectively schedule patients for services provided by Minnesota Urology physicians. This position will serve as a liaison between physicians, patients, clinics, hospitals, and surgery centers.\n

RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nSchedule patients accurately and efficiently for any and all surgical procedures requested by Minnesota Urology physicians.\nInform patients regarding special diets, prep instructions, general insurance\/referral information, arrival times, dates, locations, etc. \nAbility to organize work for efficiency and problem solve as related to surgery scheduling and its impact on physicians and clinic.\nKeeping up-to-date on all insurance requirements and following all guidelines requested.\nDocument scheduled surgeries in NextGen\/UroChart as appropriate.\nEnsure patients have necessary pre-certifications, prior authorization and\/or referrals.\nReschedule and cancel surgery and post-op appointments in a way which minimizes any inconveniences to the patient, including notification to the correct hospital or surgery center.\nMaintain effective and accurate daily physician surgery schedules.\n\n

Qualifications\n\nHigh school diploma\/GED\nMinimum of one year of surgery scheduling experience.\nMedical terminology knowledge required.\nExperience with insurances preferred.\nExperience or knowledge of current EMR systems preferred but will train.\nKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) preferred.\n\n
