Shift : Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Location: 1035 Red Bud Rd, Suite 200 – Calhoun, GA

The role you’ll contribute:

Under the direct supervision of the Physician Practice Manager or his/her designee, the Surgery Scheduler will be responsible for assisting physician with patient care, scheduling surgeries and other related technical and clinical support as required.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

Perform duties of Surgery Scheduler to include, pre-op meeting with patients to complete all documentation and consents, educate patients as to procedure locations, time, and logistics, coordinate activities with hospitals, and follow-up scheduling.

Completes precertification for new patients referred by PCP to surgical specialist, with respective insurances and communicates with patients for co-pay and deductibles.

Discuss payment options and set up plans for self-pay patients and others with financial hardships.

Collect payments for surgeries prior to surgery.

Schedule pre-operative appointments coordinated with the hospital.

Assist with patient care when nursing staff are unable to accommodate patients.

Assist with office functions as needed.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

Minimum qualifications:

1 year medical office environment

Preferred qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Technical School with concentration of in Back Office Operations/Medical Assistant

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA
