Position Description
Performs scheduling function in a high volume fully computerized environment. Acts as a professional liaison for staff, other hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians’ offices. Requires specific knowledge of all clinical service lines for the operating rooms at all Northside surgical locations, labor and delivery, and GI services. Additional skills required include typing, experience using computerized documentation systems, strong customer service and problem solving.
Position Requirements
REQUIRED:
1. Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Nursing or related field OR Five (5) to Seven (7) years previous medical related clerical experience 2. Demonstrates high level proficiency in the following software packages or equivalent: 3. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) 4. McKesson Pathways Healthcare Scheduling (PHS) 5. Highly developed interpersonal, facilitation, verbal communication, and written communication skills. 6. Must possess problem solving skills 7. Must possess excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. 8. Ability to plan time effectively, balance multiple tasks, and execute projects to completion. 9. Demonstrated knowledge of Medical terminology 10. Ability to type 40 words per minute
PREFERRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Nursing or related field 2. Previous experience in hospital/medical office scheduling environment. 3. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of a computerized scheduling system 4. Experience interfacing with physician offices, other organization departments, and third party payers. 5. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals in all levels of responsibility. 6. Ability to work independently.
