Responsibilities + First assist in the operating room across a range of surgical specialties (e.g., general, vascular, orthopedic, bariatric, etc.) + Conduct pre-operative assessments and histories. + Manage post-operative care including rounding, wound management, and discharge planning. + Perform bedside procedures such as central line placement, wound closure, and drain removals. + Respond to surgical consults in the ER and inpatient units. + Participate in trauma response as part of the surgical team. + Document patient care in EMR accurately and in a timely manner. + Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes. + Participate in on-call and weekend coverage rotation. Qualifications + Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. + Current New Jersey PA license (or eligibility). + NCCPA Certification required. + BLS and ACLS certification required; ATLS preferred. + Minimum of 1-2 years of surgical PA experience preferred (new grads with strong surgical rotations considered). + Proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., Meditech, Epic). + Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $120,000 to $140,000 on an annualized basis.
