Pay Range: $17.45-$22.25*

Job Summary:

The OR Aide at the North Country Orthopaedic Group’s Ambulatory Surgery Center is responsible for ensuring a clean and sanitary environment for patients and staff. Additionally, the OR Aide assists OR nursing staff with bringing patients to their corresponding room, communicating with them and their families to prepare for their operation, and with taking them to their transportation following their operation.

Essential Functions 

Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures, and after the last case; restocks supplies when necessary and organizes effectively for end-of-case clean up. 

Regularly consults with other members of the OR nursing team in order to maintain a clean environment. 

Establishes and maintains effective communication with patients, providing them with verbal explanations and verbal reassurance as needed. 

Interacts professionally with patients and families.

Brings patients to their room and prepares them for OR nursing staff. 

Assists patients post-operation with exiting the facility. 

Maintains a clean and sanitary environment in the department, maintaining a minimum 90% overall area inspection grade.  

Ensures all surfaces are cleaned and dusted. 

Ensure trash is collected and removed. 

Vacuums/ Spot cleans floors

Throughly cleans restrooms

Cleans windows.

Ensure cleanliness of public area according to the cleaning schedule, keeping checklists of such up to date. 

Ensures clean laundry is appropriately folded, organized, and prepared for use, and places dirty laundry in its collection site. 

Follows appropriate cleaning guidelines, including the use of appropriate cleaning products for the corresponding tasks, and maintaining well organized and stocked materials. 

Qualifications 

Education/ Certification/ Licensing 

Minimum High school diploma or equivalent 

Current Basic Bardiac Life Support Certification 

Or obtained within 90 days of employment 

Experience 

No minimum experience needed.
