POSITION SUMMARY
The Surgical Clinic Supervisor directly manages the staff in the hospital based clinic. The Supervisor coordinates recruitment of clinic staff and is responsible for performance evaluations and any necessary disciplinary actions including the proper supporting documentation. The Clinic Medical Assistant will report directly to the Surgical Clinic Supervisor. The Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight of the Medical Assistant's day-to-day operations.
The Surgical Clinic Supervisor provides administrative and clerical support to the department director with various functional responsibilities and assists with departmental operations as required. The Supervisor collaborates with the patient access team to ensure timely and accurate financial clearance of all clinic accounts.
The Surgical Clinic Supervisor assists the department staff with issues, problems and projects as directed and responds to operational inquiries. The Supervisor develops and implements office procedures and processes that support operations. The Surgical Clinic Supervisor directs the work activities of the clinic personnel.
The Surgical Clinic Supervisor is responsible for the onboarding of new providers. The Supervisor will collaborate with AIT Acute Clinical Adoption to set up training and ensure proper workflow. The Supervisor is responsible for reconciliation of charge capture and set-up of audit.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or specialized secretarial training or medical office billing training preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3-5 years practice management experience in a medical office and billing experience required. Well-developed communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. Proficiency with computer applications required. Knowledge of medical terminology and/or transcription may be required within some medical departments. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
Position requires desk/computer work for a majority of the time. Requires some walking and standing and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. Position requires increased amounts of repetitive motion with regard to typing.
