Surgical First Assist Position is Full Time with call and rotation working at Northwest Medical Center in the Main OR
Certified Surgical First Assists ( CSFA - CSA - SA-C or RNFA )
$10,000 for Student Loan Repayments

Requirements:
Completion of accredited Surgical Technician program-OR- 2 years of on-the-job training
-OR- 7 years of experience working in the field
-OR- Military training program with 2 years surgical tech experience BLS Required. ACLS Preferred. Graduate of an accredited FA program and Certification as a Surgical First Assist required At least two years experience as a surgical tech is required.
About the Job:
The Surgical FA in the Operating Room at Northwest Medical Center, assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed and assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater. Assists in preparing rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment. Assists with opening of sterile supplies, sets up for procedures and maintains an orderly surgical field. Adequately prepares for procedures/surgeries and anticipates physician's needs during procedures/surgeries. Accepts and properly identifies any medication or solution onto sterile field. Handles specimens/cultures according to policy and performs sponge, instrument and sharps counts according to policy. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment, instruments and supplies and returns all to proper locations.
Credentialing requirements as part of Medical Staff Services application -
Must be able to provide documentation of 100 cases / case logs as a first assistant in the past 2 years
Must be able to provide NPI # and current references
Must maintain competency through continuing education as required by the certifying agency
