The OR Scheduler is responsible for managing and scheduling all incoming surgical procedures efficiently and accurately. This role ensures that each procedural request is complete and correct while coordinating with necessary departments to maintain seamless scheduling operations.\n
Roles and Responsibilities:\n\nMaintain and manage the surgical scheduling system.\nSchedule patients for appropriate surgeries\/procedures while ensuring accuracy.\nDemonstrate knowledge of the OR module's functionality, including opening\/closing rooms and adjusting cases as needed.\nUpdate block schedules and assignments in Meditech as necessary.\nVerify scheduling forms for procedures and coordinate with the charge nurse on added cases or changes.\n\n
Required Skills and Experience:\n\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent Experience\nMinimum 1 year of healthcare experience \nMinimum 1 year of related work experience \n \n\n
Preferred Skills and Experience:\n\nKnowledge of scheduling systems and hospital information systems.\nProficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with imaging exams.\nExperience in surgical scheduling or related administrative healthcare roles.\n\n
Physical Requirements:\n\nAbility to sit for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation.\nFrequent hand and finger use (e.g., to operate a computer keyboard).\nAbility to stoop, kneel, or crouch for tasks such as retrieving items from lower shelves or filing in low drawers.\nWork is primarily performed in an office environment.\n\n
Location, Travel, and Shift Requirements:\n\nOnsite at Cayuga Medical Center: 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850.\nStandard Days shift 8am - 4pm, with potential flexibility based on department needs.\n0% Travel can be expected in this role.\n\n
Pay Range Disclosure:\n\nStandard Rate of $20.50 - $26.00 per hour plus benefits.\n\n
