Under the supervision of a RN and according to established practices and procedures, facilitates the provision of patient care by performing specific tasks and support functions as delegated by the Manager or Staff RN in surgery.

 

EDUCATION, SPECIAL SKILLS, PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Current  BLS provider Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to:  a) provide care appropriate to the ages of patients served, b) demonstrate knowledge and principles of growth and development over the life span, c) posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to the patient’s age-specific needs, d) provide the care needed as described in the department policies and procedures. Excellent verbal and written skills. Completion of high school level course work. Completion of an approved nurse aid training course preferred. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform required competencies (skills) within allotted time frames.
