Surgical Services Inventory, Coordinator
Job Description

The hours for this position are 10am -6:30pm

The Surgical Services Inventory Control Coordinator is an integral part of the hospital's Materials Management team.  The SSIC Coordinator is responsible for the procurement and other contracting support activities for the Department of Surgical Services including tracking and ordering inventory, budgeting, selecting and storing supplies, equipment and instruments.

 

 The Coordinator is required to adhere to corporate policies, provide strong customer service support, review department purchasing requests, and insure that pricing is reasonable and competitive.  The Coordinator is also responsible for inventory control activities within the Operating Room suite. The Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Materials Management Manager.

 

Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age, culture, ethnicity, and specific individual diagnostic needs of the patients served in his/her department.  He/she must be able to assess and interpret data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s specific needs and provide the care needed by the patient group (pediatric, adolescents and/or geriatric patient group, culture and diagnostic specific).

 

Consistently expresses and demonstrates compassion and courtesy for patients.  Extends courtesy and support to patient's families/visitors.

QualificationsCompletion of high school level of course work with attainment of a high school diploma or State High School Equivalency Certificate (GED).Three to five years of operating room experience.Management experience, minimum 2 years preferred.Additional Information
