Surgical Services Materials Technician
Job Description​

The Opportunity:  Saint Luke’s South Hospital of Overland Park, KS is seeking a Surgical Services Materials Tech to assist with inventory management of medical supplies and keeping supply room stocked.  This position is responsible for the activities, functions and operations in MOR. The Materials Technician is also responsible for working collaboratively with the Material Coordinator to facilitate the procurement of supplies. The activities include effectively optimizing inventory penetration supply chain efficiency and effectiveness and other assigned functional responsibilities.
 

Shift/Hours info:  7:00 am-3:30 P.M.  No weekends, no remote.
 

The Work:

Performs MMIS receiving transactions using both handheld/iPad and desktop applicationsComplete the replenishment of par locations through par replenishment methods including picking orders, gathering/filling empty binsRequisitions commodity/central store suppliesParticipate in stock put away, breaking down cardboard and maintaining a cleanly environmentFollow up on order issues, including missed picks, shortages and obtaining substitute products when requiredPull procedure carts/pick sheets to prepare for surgeriesAssist in supply chain projects and initiatives including the building of carts, labeling supplies, participating in physical inventory, and setting up or reorganizing Achieve quality and safety expectations including auditing inventory locations for regulatory compliance such as cleanliness, organization, expired suppliesClean/disinfect equipment and specialized carts for deployment throughout the hospitalMay operate motorized pallet jacksMay be cross-trained in other materials functions
