Surgical Services Operations Manager - Full Time - Days

Position Overview:
The Operations Manager oversees the procurement and management of surgical supplies, equipment, and services to ensure the seamless operation of surgical teams. This role focuses on maintaining optimal inventory levels, negotiating vendor contracts, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies. The Operations Manager collaborates closely with surgeons, operating room staff, and vendors to meet the organization's quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
Essential Functions :
Promotes the philosophy and mission of Montrose Regional Health.
Develop and implement strategies for sourcing high-quality surgical supplies and equipment.
Responsible for accounting and money management including adhering to surgical services budget
Managing and supervising schedulers and biller, disciplinary actions, 90 day and annual performance evaluations, hiring and termination processes
Acts as administrative assistant to surgical services leadership.
Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.
Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships to secure favorable terms and resolve supply chain issues.
Assist the Director in managing the surgical supply budget in alignment with organizational goals.
Analyze purchasing trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and compliance certifications
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address product quality issues.
Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and operating room staff to forecast supply needs.
Help Prepare and present MOR.
Serve as the primary liaison between the surgical department and suppliers.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on procurement activities and performance.
Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related role, preferably in healthcare or surgical settings.
Previous experience managing a team is preferred.
Certifications (Preferred): Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP)
Ability to effectively communicate, verbally, and non-verbally, in a clear, concise manner.
Administrative and philosophical compatibility with Montrose Regional Health.
Interpersonal skills and sound judgment necessary to communicate with a wide variety of persons including patients.
The ability to make appropriate decisions based on fact and knowledge is required. The ability to perform detailed work required. The ability to work harmoniously with employees required. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and show good judgment. The ability to make decisions under pressure and deadlines required.
