clinical partnerships in a convenient safe and comfortable patient environmentJOB SUMMARYSupports the needs of the Surgical Services Department by coordinating and maintaining an efficient and cost effective surgical schedule The Surgical Services Scheduler assists with coordinating requested equipment supplies and services Efficiently schedules surgical cases as defined by the surgery scheduling guidelines and works to minimize conflicts and delays Prepares final version of the schedule and distributes it to the appropriate departments Ensures completion and accuracy of the procedure order form in relation to requested appointment type and work with the physicianrsquos office to correct any discrepancies prior to booking Maintains the Surgical Grid functions in the experience in a hospital or medical related field with use of computers and data entry functionsKnowledge Skills and Ability RequirementsAbility to read and understand oral and written instructions and effectively communicate informationWorking knowledge of medical terminology to include CPT codes and ICD codesAccurate grammar spelling and punctuation skills necessaryProficient computer skills to include working knowledge of Windows based software including word processing database and spreadsheet programsDemonstrate strong customer service skills and has excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments employees physicians and managersAbility to work in stressful environment and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple prioritiesPreferred
