Surgical Tech Per Diem Days Position Summary

Position prepares operating rooms for surgery, using appropriate techniques. Provides technical services and assists in other areas as assigned and directed.  Position assists in nursing care and preparation of the surgical patient by performance of routine and delegated duties according to the standards and policies of the hospital and department.  Performs scrub duties and related procedures and provides assistance in emergency procedures as well as scheduled and emergency cases. Call is required for this position - must reside within a 30 minute call time of facility.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent customer service skills and basic computer skills.

THE SURGICAL TECH PER DIEM DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent GED for all current employees. Completion of formal ORT program for all new hires.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Thorough knowledge and experience in operative procedures, equipment and instrumentation.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: One year of hospital/surgical background or experience.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: CPR
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Completion of accredited Operating Room Technology course.
