With a cost of living 8% lower than the national average, we are affordable for everyone! **Schedule:** **Temporary Contract - Days 3/12's 6:30AM - 7PM** **Qualifications** + Technical School certificate course in Surgical Technology required + 15 continuing education hours related to the practice of surgical technology must be maintained annually to continue employment. This is tracked within the department by management from documentation provided by the Surgical Technician employee. + 1-3 years of operating room surgical technician experience required + 1-2 years of lead surgical technician responsibilities preferred **Licenses and Certifications** + CST - Certified Surgical Technologist required + CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation within three (3) months of hire and must be maintained required + BCLS - Basic Life Support required **Essential Functions** + Prepares the operating room for surgical cases, ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are properly organized and available by applying principles of Universal Precautions, asepsis, and sterile technique. + Maintains aseptic techniques and ensures sterile field integrity during surgical procedures. + Anticipates the surgeon’s needs during procedures, efficiently passing instruments and materials as required. + Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse to ensure patient safety. + Retains, labels, and documents specimens for pathology accurately, ensuring proper handling and transfer. + Cleans, reprocesses, and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols. **About Crestwood Medical Center** Crestwood Medical Center is a Tier 1 Facility from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.
