Essential Responsibilities

Assist the Surveyors in performing their daily duties and follow instructions as directedTransport and set up equipment and survey instrumentsUse a variety of tools (hammer, frost pin, shovel) to support accurate surveying and construction activitiesSafely operate a light duty vehicle in a high traffic and congested environmentAccurately take measurements and record dataActively participate and be committed in Ledcor’s safety program

Requirements

Candidates with previous experience as a Survey Assistant are preferredEducation in the fields of surveying, geomatics and civil engineering fields will be highly regardedKnowledge and experience of setting up survey equipment and instruments such as GPS units, levels and total stations, although training will be provided to the right candidateBasic knowledge of surveying principles and an aptitude for mathematics and an analytical mindsetEffective and concise communication skills are key to this roleMust be able to handle the physical demands of outdoor conditions and the ability to move equipmentReliable team player with a strong work ethic and desire to learn and progressMust be able to complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol testHold a valid Class 5 drivers license and provide a clean 3-year drivers recordCSTS-2020, Fall Protection and WHMIS 2015 (training can be provided)

Work Conditions

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with evenings and weekends free to enjoy at homeWork will be primarily outdoors in all year-round weather conditionsBenefits provided by CLAC - extended health plan (prescription drugs, dental, and other coverage)Candidates must reside in the Greater Edmonton Region
