Survey CAD Technician
Job Title: Survey CAD TechnicianJob Description

Our Surveying Department is seeking a Survey/Civil CAD Technician. This position requires an experienced Survey or Civil CAD Technician who can draft detailed Construction Drawings, Topographical Profiles, and related Maps and Specifications used in Planning and Construction of Civil Engineering and Surveying projects. This position is open because of an increase in K-12 and Municipal/MDOT projects, and this person would get to work with autonomy within a highly collaborative team.

ResponsibilitiesPerform basic mathematic calculations, such as pipe slopes, areas, and volumes.Assist in the development of construction plans and process raw information from designers for project design.Read and follow CAD Standards and Operating Procedures, including standards, conventions, and guidelines, to maintain uniformity in work products.Review and check plans for accuracy.Use station offset methods to set points.Estimate manhours required to complete CAD projects.Process various engineering calculations using second party software with minimal supervision, such as creating existing and proposed surfaces, creating alignments, and profiles.Produce site plan and utility layout with minimal supervision from designers.Process existing and proposed profiles, such as grade and utilities.Plot legal descriptions for parcels, easements, and rights of way.Import survey data into Civil 3D.Produce boundary, topographical, ALTA, and As-built surveys.Generate stake-out coordinates and plot information for field crew.Use AutoCAD or MicroStation proficiently in daily assignments.Essential Skills2+ years of experience in a Survey and/or Civil CAD Technician roleStrong proficiency in AutoCAD and Experience in any 3D CAD Software.Proficient understanding of the metric system and how to convert it to English.Preferred but Not Required - 5+ years of experience as Survey or Civil CAD Technician.Preferred but Not Required - Experience with Civil 3D, MicroStation, GeoPAK, or GIS software.Additional Information

The position requires working 40-50 hours per week, with up to 2 days remote. The office hosts about 60 people in Rochester Hills and is very modern, with a large kitchen space and multiple conference rooms. The company culture is collaborative and creative, offering a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00
