Position Overview
This role involves the operations of survey data collection instruments for survey crew activities. The Survey Instrument Operator reports to the Party Chief and Sr. Survey Manager and is responsible for the operation of survey equipment, including metal detectors, GNSS receivers, data collectors, total station and robotics, levels, and supporting equipment. This position has the overall responsibility to maintain field equipment. Support field survey team in the development of quality deliverables while working safely and efficiently and maintaining high utilization goals
Responsibilities:

Coordinate daily task assignments and project prioritization with the Party Chief and Sr. Survey Manager.Uses established workflows and procedures for operating equipment.Collect topographic and boundary evidence data utilizing a field-to-finish format.Document clear and accurate notes along with detailed sketchesAssist in the daily download of survey data.Responsible for charging equipment batteries and ensuring equipment readiness.Assists with field survey equipment updates, including software and hardware renewals.Assists with setting up temporary traffic control and aids in crew safety.Willingness to travel out of town and other states is a plus but not required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of experience as an Instrument OperatorKnowledge of math and earth sciences, geography experience, and computer skills Valid driver's license and clean driving record for operating company vehiclesCompetent use of essential computer software such as M.S. Office
