Dewberry is currently looking for a Survey Party Chief to perform a variety of tasks associated with land surveying, GIS and civil engineering projects in our Richmond, VA office location. Responsibilities Perform all aspects of land surveying, GPS control, control using robotic total stations, ALTA surveys, property surveys, topography and existing conditions surveys, utility and as-built recovery and construction stakeoutOther duties as assigned Required Skills & Required Experience A minimum of 5 years of working experience as a Party ChiefAbility to operate Robotic Total Stations and fluent in GPS, static, RTK and RTN collection protocolsFamiliarity with Trimble TSC3, TSC5 or TSC7 Data CollectorsFamiliarity with Carlson Survey software a plusSufficient knowledge to handle most survey-related tasks in the field to include the ability to review and understand construction drawings and perform associated layoutExperienced in reading and understanding deeds and platsExperienced in recovery of boundary evidence in the fieldAbility to collect as-built and topographic data, provide sketches and work with survey technicians to develop superior mapping productsAbility to work  under rigorous conditionsUtility locating experience a plusExcellent communication skillsMust be reliable 

Additional Requirements:

Must understand the importance of the deliverable and have a track record of ownership with regard to all projects and assignments and be a team playerHave the ability to work out of town, flexible with work areaMust have a valid driver's licnese, clean driving record and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license in order to operate company vehicleMust be able to pass drug/alcohol screeningPhysically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability  to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
