Job Title: SurveyorJob Description We are a full-service land planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, transportation, and geomatics firm operating in North Carolina and Texas. Responsibilities + Manage the operations of a construction staking crew. + Mentor and manage Instrument Operators. + Prepare and manage field notes and field data files. + Return field notes and data files to office support staff daily. + Ensure proper operation of a field crew on the construction staking team. + Prepare proper field notes and manage field data files for easy interpretation by office support staff. + Turn in notes and field files daily. + Organize and maintain all equipment and vehicles. + Maintain good client relations to foster and perpetuate long-term relationships. + Manage and mentor field personnel to ensure project objectives are met under budget and promptly. + Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Essential Skills + 5+ years of experience in survey field work. + Knowledge of TDS Software, Trimble Robotics, GPS equipment, Carlson Software, and Leica Robotics. + Punctual and dependable. + Hardworking and detail-oriented. + Valid driver’s license. + Successful passing of motor vehicle records check, drug test, and functional assessment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 5+ years of experience as a Crew Chief in Construction Staking and/or Surveying preferred. + CAD experience preferred. + Proficiency in vertical layout (framing, concrete, plumbing, etc.). + Field collecting proficiency. + Experience performing building layout for large industrial/commercial projects. + Leadership qualities. + Self-starter who can work effectively and problem solve independently. Work Environment Work will be conducted outdoors in all weather conditions. The role requires organizing and maintaining all equipment and vehicles. The candidate must maintain punctuality, dependability, and attention to detail. Additionally, maintaining good client relations is crucial for fostering long-term relationships.
