We’re looking for a Landscape Construction Surveyor . Can you picture yourself here? Here’s what you’d do: The Surveyor in Landscape Construction plays a vital role in the planning and execution of landscaping projects by providing precise measurements, layout, and data collection. This position involves layout and data collection utilizing advanced surveying tools such as GPS and total stations. The Surveyor interprets site plans and engineering drawings in BIM or CAD to ensure design feasibility and collaborates closely with the production team to facilitate the successful implementation of landscape and construction projects. You’d be responsible for: + Utilize Surveying Tools: Employ specialized instruments, including GPS, total stations, and laser levels, to obtain accurate measurements of distances, angles, and elevations. + Interpret Plans and Drawings: Review and analyze site plans, blueprints, and engineering drawings to assess and verify the feasibility of landscape designs. + Provide Topographical Surveys: Generate topographical surveys to support the design and layout of projects. + Maintain Accurate Records: Document survey results meticulously, including sketches. + Communicate Effectively: Relay survey data to project managers, designers, and clients to assist in informed decision-making and project planning. + Ensure Safety Compliance: Monitor and uphold safety standards and regulations during all site survey activities to ensure a safe working environment. + Collaborate with Construction Teams: Work closely with construction teams to ensure accurate implementation of landscape designs based on survey data. + Troubleshoot Project Issues: Identify and resolve issues related to project alignment, grading, and drainage based on survey findings and recommendations. + Data collection and surveying to produce as-built drawings. You might be a good fit if you have: + Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Construction Science, Construction Management, Land Surveying, or a related field is preferred. + Relevant Certifications: Certifications in surveying or landscape construction can be beneficial. + Continued Education: Participation in workshops or courses related to surveying techniques, software, and safety standards is advantageous. + Work Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in land surveying, preferably in a construction or landscaping environment. + Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience using surveying instruments such as GPS, total stations, and laser levels. + Familiarity with CAD Software: Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for creating maps and interpreting survey data. + Knowledge of Regulations: Strong understanding of boundary laws, topography, and land use regulations. + Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering plans, and landscape designs. + Bilingual Skills: Proficiency in Spanish is a plus. + Customer Service Experience: Experience interacting with clients and stakeholders. + Professional Surveyor License (PLS): License or progress towards obtaining it is preferred.
