What You Will Do

As a Survey Intern, you'll jump right into the action, becoming part of our field software product development team. Over your three months with us, you'll start by getting familiar with Trimble Access, Total Stations and GNSS and soon you will be participating in aspects of the product life cycle and working on product development initiatives.

Here’s what you’ll get to do:

Explore Trimble Surveying Workflows: Learn how to use cutting-edge GNSS and Total Station technology in the field. You’ll even get outdoors and test some of our latest, unreleased gear!

Be Mentored by Fellow Otago Alumni: You’ll have guidance from a supportive team of experienced Product Managers and surveyors who’ll be with you every step of the way.

Discover Trimble CAD Products: Build your technical skills as you dive into the world of CAD.

Understand Global Surveying Practices: See how surveyors around the world tackle similar challenges in different ways.

Learn How Survey Software is Created: Get a behind-the-scenes look at how we develop and release software that surveyors across the globe rely on.

Be Part of Our Summer Intern Community: You won’t be going through this experience alone! You’ll join 30 other interns in New Zealand, plus work with our global team.

Enjoy Our Office Culture: Our Christchurch office is known for its fun and friendly vibe. There will be plenty of social activities and events to get involved in.

Professional Hours Signed Off: Get your hours accredited by a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor, helping you progress toward your professional goals.

This internship is designed to be a supportive, fun, and hands-on learning experience. We want you to grow, contribute, and feel inspired during your time with us!

What You Should Bring

Current Student: You’re in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying at a New Zealand-based university.

Time Management & Communication: You’ve got good personal time management and organizational skills, and you know how to communicate clearly and work well with others.

Eager to Learn: You’re excited about discovering new technologies and solutions in the land surveying field.

Basic Survey Knowledge: You have a solid understanding of the basics of Total Stations and GNSS workflows.

Curiosity & Enthusiasm: You’re someone who loves asking questions, staying curious, and is ready to dive into learning Trimble’s solutions.
