The role

As an Offshore Surveyor you will play a crucial role in our projects, providing accurate and reliable geo-data to support our clients' needs. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the success of a wide range of projects, from infrastructure development to environmental studies. In this role, you will conduct land and hydrographic surveys using the latest technology and equipment. You will be responsible for analysing and interpreting survey data to produce detailed reports and maps, which will be essential for our clients' decision-making processes.

Collaboration with project teams will be a key aspect of your role, ensuring data accuracy and project efficiency. Additionally, you will maintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure optimal performance and adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.

In In this role, you will be responsible for executing positioning and navigation tasks and running projects of low complexity. You will ensure the correct offsets, measurements, and calibrations of positioning equipment and the set-up and/or operation of survey equipment. You will carry out the acquisition of survey data, including computations, in-field data processing, and the compilation of survey reports. You will be responsible for the appropriate QC of data, computations, and reports, and perform administrative duties including the compilation of project procedures and maintaining an accurate and complete logbook.
 

Who we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field. Proven experience in land and/or hydrographic surveying is essential. You should be proficient with survey software and equipment, including GPS, Total Stations, and GIS. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with excellent communication and teamwork abilities. A willingness to travel and work in various locations across the UK is necessary. A valid driver's license and the ability to operate survey vehicles and equipment are also required.
 

For the Offshore Surveyor role, you should have a BSc. degree in Hydrographic Surveying or Geodetic Surveying and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role. Previous offshore experience on a variety of survey projects and a willingness to work offshore for approximately 195 days per year are essential. You should have experience in the calibration and verification of survey sensors for surface and subsea positioning and be proficient in the setup and operation of commonly used survey sensors, such as GNSS, Gyro, MRU, USBL, and ideally also with MBES, USBL, LBL INS, and Digital Video.
 

A sound understanding of the principles of real-time positioning, data acquisition, and data QC, and proficiency in the use of online survey software are required. You should be good at problem-solving, enjoy tackling technical challenges, have a can-do attitude, and possess good communication and language skills in English (written and spoken).
