Suspension Structures Lead, Chassis

As a Structures Lead for Chassis Mechanical, you will lead the design of components that control lateral, longitudinal, and vertical control of world leading electric vehicles. You will engage with attribute groups and other system owners to guide premier suspension structures from concept to production.
Responsibilities
Manage a team of engineers in the design and development of suspension structure components (i.e. control arms, knuckles, subframes) from initial concept to production Ensure that component designs satisfy requirements to deliver the desired vehicle attributes Design with excellence at system and component level, with great attention to every detail. Provide technical support to guide your team to do the same. Work closely with both internal teams and externals suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possible Lead a team in root cause analysis and issue resolution Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environmentQualifications
5+ years of automotive industry experience, mostly focused on chassis mechanical design Experience personally and directly designing components from concept to production Design release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experience Experience managing or leading other design engineers. Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection Proven 3D CAD, project leadership, and mentoring skills Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% if neededAdvantageous
10+ years of automotive industry experience Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6 Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, NVH, and vehicle crash safety principles Ability to run and teach others to use CAE analysis tools Experience and understanding of automotive mechatronics design and control theoryEducation
