A Brief Overview

The Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Specialist at ASICS is a dynamic role focused on advancing the company's commitments to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and sustainable business practices. We are seeking a proactive and innovative Sustainability Specialist to join our team. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and take initiative without direct supervision. This position will play a key part in developing, implementing, and monitoring sustainability initiatives that align with ASICS' corporate values and deliver on the company's strategic goals.

Leadership Responsibilities

This position does not have people leadership responsibilities.


What You'll Do

Build relationships and collaborate with key internal stakeholders (human resources, legal, marketing, retail, ECOM, etc.) to ensure alignment and execution of regional sustainability programs, events, and activities. Develop and execute company-wide employee engagement programs focused on sustainability (running events, community events, sustainability awareness/education, etc.) Support development and execution of sustainability targets throughout the organization; contribute to strategy development and translate objectives into operational tasks and procedures. Engage various stakeholders including but not limited to industry groups, NGOs, academia, and governments to inform help AAC's sustainability/CSR strategy Monitor and support supplier performance; including review of supplier social compliance audit reports, engagement with supplier on corrective action plans (CAPs) and support their remediation efforts, follow up and review remediation progress and support capacity building; and assess supplier management systems; identifying gaps that should be addressed. Support the tracking and monitoring the progress of key sustainability KPIs with key business functions Support various environmental projects (LEED/Energy Star Certifications, resource usage, circularity initiatives, waste management, etc.) Create sustainability awareness and help embed and integrate CSR & sustainability standards at all operations and levels of the ASICS North America Group Support supplier mapping and regional product traceability program Champion sustainability as source of innovation and added value for ASICS. Supports various projects focused on environmental and social performance improvement. Adheres to all company policies and procedures Embodies and demonstrates company ethics and values Abides by all federal, state and local laws


How You'll Be Successful

Broad knowledge across aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability. Organizational and project management skills. Strong research and analytics skills. Able to work independently and under pressure. Persistent and results driven. Able to independently make data driven and logical decisions through data analysis. Demonstrates professionalism in communication, attitude and collaboration in all interactions Experience leading organization-wide initiatives/projects. Experience writing copy for both internal and external audiences that promotes engagement and adoption of CSR & Sustainability initiatives.


What You'll Need

Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Sustainability Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or equivalent training, education and/or experience 2-3 years of working experience in the field of CSR and Sustainability, preferably in a multi-national corporation environment required Experience working with ESG rating indexes, data collection, reporting, and frameworks preferred Experience related to ESG-focused legislation/regulations; specifically in the footwear and apparel industry preferred Experience with social and environmental supply chain audits preferred


SALARY / PAY RANGE: $63,000 - $70,000
