Sustainability Manager, US/CAN

Background:

In 2019 Ingredion launched our 2030 All Life sustainability plan, which sets out to drive meaningful change on social and environmental issues, through the adoption of low-carbon, socially-inclusive business practices. The company’s All Life plan lines out clear goals and milestone through 2030 that support a vision for delivering sustainable growth within a purpose-led organizational framework.

The Sustainability Manager, US/Canada is responsible for regional execution of our All Life sustainability strategy, as well as developing strategic approaches to stakeholder engagement, collaborations, and events leading to successful outcomes for sustainability.

Core Responsibilities:

Overall regional leadership for the All Life plan, to develop, implement, maintain and advance programs, policies, and initiativesSupports the US/Canada Go To Market (GTM) organization through the development of material for use with customers, as well sustainability training for GTM personnelActs as the intermediary between the Corporate Sustainability team and regional management to define and manage sustainability goals, milestones, metrics, budget for the US/Canada regionRepresents Ingredion at regional trade associations like the Corn Refiners Association (CRA) Sustainability CommmitteeCreates infectious excitement across the US/Canada organization in support of our sustainability and Impact Council efforts; coordinate regional engagement and philanthropy through YourCause online portalFacilitates embedding sustainable innovation into all aspects of our businessRepresent Ingredion in external organizations and help promote the company as a thought leader in sustainabilityWorks with Corporate and Regional Communications to identify opportunities to communicate All Life milestones, achievements and leadership moments to key stakeholders,  customers and for the US/Canada leadership townhalls and other internal eventsAlong with Corporate Sustainability team, serve as a resource for customer communication and engagement on sustainabilityRegularly scans external environment for technological advances in field, ensuring Ingredion maintains competitive edge

Qualified Candidates will Have:

A passion for sustainability and inclusion with a personal purpose to utilize role to make life betterBachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or similar. Master’s Degree preferredStrong experience leading, designing, managing and implementing strategies in sustainability or related programsAbility to develop effective networks, leading through influence, building consensus, and moving key initiatives forwardGrowth mindset, shaping the future, taking risks, failing, learning and recovering quickly to make bold changesOutstanding communicator with excellent oral and writing skillsExceptional project management skills to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while delivering timely resultsTakes ownership and accountability for resultsTeam oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and agileFlexibility to travel across all US and Canada
