About the role The Sustainability Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Expert facilitates important discussions at a global level on sustainability data collection processes and definitions, and supports the reporting and learning on sustainability. By managing definitions, processes, data pipelines and learning initiatives, the monitoring, evaluation and learning expert will contribute directly to the Forever Chocolate ambitions: zero child labor, farmers out of poverty, being carbon and deforestation positive. Key Responsibilities include + Align with stakeholders to define what sustainability data is required, how that data will be collected, what the definitions are, what the quality rules are, and how the data will be reported. + Build data processing pipelines to do quality checks, consolidate and report on sustainability data + Lead projects to implement or change processes and/or data elements + Build and drive learning initiatives and advanced analytics to better understand (the impact of) our sustainability programs + Participate in sustainability projects for customers, donors or countries, as an expert on the monitoring and evaluation deliverables. + deliver reports to show our sustainability activities and their impact on customers, donors, and the general public + Document processes, definitions, tools, and data rules + Participate in audits where 3rd party bodies verify and challenge our sustainability data, reporting and strategy About you + University level degree + Fluency in English. Strong preference for French, other languages are an asset + Previous Experience with performing data analysis and reporting + Previous experience with development or sustainability work (human rights, agricultural development, climate) + Experience with data management or data governance + Previous experience with ‘learning’ in an academic or NGO environment + Technical experience with data lakes, data pipelines and advanced analytics + Strong analytical. process and project management skills + Knowledge of SQL and/or Python. + Knowledge of PowerBI, Databricks and/or Microsoft Azure are a plus + Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills + Able to operate in ambiguous and multi-stakeholder environments + Able to perform under pressure, self-organized and a proven strong team-player + Able to communicate across cultures, for example with cocoa growing countries + Calm, patient and persistent + Genuine passion about the different domains of sustainability: human rights, carbon emissions, deforestation, poverty as well as in data processes, data and reporting + Open with occasional travel to cocoa growing countries At Barry Callebaut, we are committed to Diversity & Inclusion.
