Sustainability Reporting & Systems Analyst
Manulife Investment Management is seeking a Reporting & Systems Analyst to support its Sustainable Investing team. This is an important role for a motivated early-career investment professional who is passionate about sustainability, appreciates the critical role of data in achieving goals, and is enthusiastic about providing technical guidance to a diverse team with wide-ranging responsibilities. This position reports to the Director, Stewardship and Governance. Core Responsibilities Reporting: + Support with the development and implementation of Manulife sustainability reporting initiatives, staying current on trends and developments related to sustainability reporting, communications, and disclosure. + Gather and organize sustainability-related data the Manulife Investment Management Sustainability Report and support other reporting initiatives including PRI, CDP, and other industry and client reporting as needed. + Provide project-based support for data governance, develop and maintain project timelines, and develop process documentation to ensure methods are consistent and auditable. Systems: + Work with investment professionals from all asset classes to support the onboarding and data maintenance of sustainability data platforms (e.g. biodiversity risk, supply chain risk, carbon calculation, etc.). + Support the automation of aggregating data across all capabilities. + Support the analysis of results to support investment professionals through the preparation of data tables, visualizations, charts, maps, graphics, presentations, and slide decks to enhance their sustainability strategies, internal communications, and investor interactions. Job Requirements + Undergraduate degree in sustainability, engineering, computer science, business, finance, or the natural sciences. A graduate-level degree is an advantage. + A passion for sustainability, appreciation for the importance of data in achieving goals, and enthusiasm for working in a key technical support role. + The ability to review and research large amounts of information from disparate sources and summarize findings. + Ability to conduct complex analytical tasks and explain processes and results in simple terms. + Previous experience with some of the following: GIS, carbon accounting, impact measurement, biodiversity risk, physical risk, and supply chain risk. + Experience collaborating with technology teams. + Experience with a variety of methods in data collection and analysis, including experience in authoring process documentation. + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Python, and/or R. + Exceptional attention to detail and ability to conduct high-quality QA/QC. + Demonstrated experience with and/or detailed knowledge of sustainable investing and reporting. + Humility, tact, knack for building trust, and desire to learn from experienced investment and IT professionals. **About Manulife and John Hancock** Manulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better.
