We are looking for an experienced and passionate Sustainability Specialist, Environment to advance Hiab’s operational sustainability initiatives. This role is critical in driving our decarbonization roadmap (Scopes 1 & 2) and minimizing the environmental impact of our own operations. The ideal candidate will oversee data analytics, compliance, and training programs while advancing collaboration across teams to achieve Hiab’s environmental sustainability goals.

This role can be based in Finland or other European locations and will report to the Senior Sustainability Manager, Environment. 

Main tasks and responsibilities Drive the implementation of the decarbonization roadmap for Scopes 1 & 2 to minimize the environmental impact of our own operations.  Focus on the key levers such as transitioning to renewable energy, decarbonizing the fleet, enhancing energy efficiency and processes, driving behavioural change, and optimizing our premises Oversee data collection process related to sustainability metrics and leverage data analytics to drive decision-making and strategy improvements Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations, maintain and expand ISO 14001 certifications across global operations  Monitor, report and develop environmental performance metrics across all facilities  Develop programs to minimize waste generation, optimize recycling, and reduce resource consumption across sites Collaborate and develop competences and awareness across the organization as the primary subject matter expert on environmental matters for own operations Develop and deliver training programs for employees for operational sustainability, gathering feedback from sites and developing action plans to address the issues What you’ll need to succeed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in environmental management or sustainability, preferably in a global organization Proven experience with ISO 14001 certifications and regulatory compliance will be considered beneficial Track record of implementing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and waste reduction initiatives will be considered beneficial  Strong analytical and data management skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work cross-functionally Project management expertise with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes, with a particular focus on Scopes 1 & 2 Strong and deep understanding of environmental regulations and industry standards especially within the EU Hands-on approach and operationally oriented with focus on coaching with strong communication and problem-solving skills. Fluency in English, both written and verbal You will be part of
