SUMMARY

The Sustainability Specialist is responsible for providing reporting and consultative support encompassing BOMA / LEED facilitation, waste and organics diversion, occupant awareness, climate resiliency, green building, sustainability reporting metrics and client driven initiatives. This role is also responsible for contributing to the identification of project opportunities, solution development and program coordination during the implementation stage as related to Sustainability initiatives.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Your primary role as an Associate Property Manager will encompass a wide variety of duties. Specifically, you will:

Monitors and enforces compliance to all internal and external requirements. Communicates observations and risks to concerned parties and supports establishment of corrective actions. Supports collection and submission of BOMA Best / LEED documentation for certification. Compiles and submits reports to senior team members for review. Coordinates and oversees waste audits. Provides support and direction to the projects team for all Sustainability related initiatives. Participates in establishing sustainability and BOMA / LEED goals.  Generates professional reports for sustainability and waste reviews providing existing conditions, results of a studies, and recommendations. Reports included can be for submission to CAGBC (Canadian Green building council) and USGBC. All reports must follow BGIS protocol but be written in a manner that is appropriate for the client needs. Assists in the planning, coordinate and implementation of various waste management and recycling projects. Supports BGIS field team with sustainability related projects. Supports client sustainability initiative\objectives and assist on strategic vision. Supports delivering sustainability reporting used to meet KPI’s and contract deliverables. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

To be up to the exciting challenges of this Associate Property Manager role, you must have a professional profile that includes:

Completion of post-secondary training in a related area. Between 3 to 5 year experience in LEED facilitation, waste management, and sustainability consulting.  Experience conducting waste audits. Knowledge in WELL, BOMA BEST, and other sustainability metrics. Community college diploma completed or similar experience. Advanced skills in MS Excel. Strong MS Word skills. Working experience with MS Access or other database software would be beneficial. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with high levels of client interaction. Strong administrative skills including documentation standards and project management. Appreciation of financial reporting requirements. Knowledge of facility management services would be beneficial.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

LEED accreditation is required. Waste auditing certification would be an asset. WELL accreditation would be an asset.
