Sustaining Engineer

Demonstrate a solid understanding of mechanical engineering\nprinciples which can be applied to product improvements for mechanical products. 
Understand and be proficient in the use of engineering documentation, change processes and business systems and the ability to trouble shoot and identify root cause.
Serve as the lead contact person for issues concerning manufacturing issues on the shop floor.
As required by business, works closely with other engineering disciplines and other departments in the realm of (but not limited to) materials specification, process specification, cost cutting measures, assembly and/or machining enhancements, and special product features/enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate\nthe design, costing, and implementation of product modifications. 
Support production in the machining and assembly of standard products and special enhancements.
Coordinate component geometry, material, and process specs with purchasing and vendors.
Support sales on field problems as required.
Support quality control.
Maintain engineering documentation for standard products.
Setup burners in the lab and test to gather performance results.
Document results/findings via detailed test reports
Coordinate the activities of designers, drafters, and technicians assigned to the tasks.
Estimate personnel and equipment needs and assign work to meet completion dates. Review progress with management.
Establish test procedures to be used by production for selected products.
Coordinate and communicate all relevant activities necessary to comply with standards, laboratory approvals, or European Directives to other departments.
Works under general supervision and operates with substantial latitude for unreviewed action and/or decision.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Due to compliance with U.S export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

MUST HAVES:

A\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree is required. 
Strong design, project management and analytical skills are necessary for product improvement and implementation.
Problem solving skills are required utilizing “big picture” thinking as well as the ability to solve day to day challenges quickly and effectively.
Effective communication with engineers, supply chain, operations, marketing, customers and managers is required.
Drive projects to completion demonstrating the ability to be self-motivated, detail, action and process oriented.

WE VALUE:

Experience in a manufacturing environment is desired.
