Job Description

  

Summary

Responsible for the continuing engineering and technical support that follows release of requirements, specifications, and drawings for fabrication, assemble, testing, and delivery of an end-product. Works under general supervision. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assists in streamlining the process of taking plans for a product from development and into full-scale production.Develops a timetable and plan for production, assess prototypes, and research potential material sources.Makes recommendations for improvements to the product from the perspective of production.Participate in decisions about the purchase of new processes and/or manufacturing equipment, and in training for workers to ensure a quality product.Provide technical and customer support following the release of product specifications and requirements.Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Education and/or Experience

        

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and 2-5 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Other Skills and Abilities

Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/KaizenKnowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP…)
