The Vice President I role, Venture Capital Relationship Management is part of the Investor Coverage and Business Development group in NYC. As trusted advisors, building a supportive ecosystem for the investor community and their portfolio companies is the primary focus of our team. The primary responsibility of the Vice President I role is to assist the management of an assigned client portfolio supporting Directors and Managing Directors across the team. Responsibilities Key responsibilities: Support the VCRM team in managing a large national portfolio of investor and firm relationships, including investor meeting and portfolio review preparation. Assist Directors and MDs in developing unique events and programming to help clients succeed and enhance SVB’s brand image as the leading bank for technology companies. Drive the “Next Gen” strategy and build relationships with pre-partner investors at key VC firms in the New York market Assist team with quarterly and monthly reporting deadlines. Support the team in tracking and analyzing key internal metrics. Analyze and manage internal and external data sources to identify top clients and prospects, predict fundraising needs, and extract industry trends. Be seen as an internal thought-leader on the VC ecosystem by staying up to date on relevant tech news and investment trends. Start to develop a network of VC and relevant ecosystem partners and leverage these relationships. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience working in the tech ecosystem, consulting, or financial services OR High School diploma or GED with 6 years of credit analysis and portfolio management experience. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the venture industry, technology sectors, business models, and fundraising trends Familiarity with the Fortune 500 landscape, including an understanding of corporate functions Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and communication skills High proficiency in Microsoft Office; Tableau preferred but not necessary Ability to work independently and in a team environment to complete assigned tasks and take on new initiatives Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks at any given time Focused on SVB’s Values, Success Drivers and Corporate Goals Knowledge of banking products and operations, along with technology sector (Fintech, Consumer, Enterprise, Hardware) experience is a bonus The base pay for this position is generally between $117,832 - $176,748 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
