Title and Summary

SVP, CFO, Open Banking, Consumer Acquisitions & Engagement & CTO Services

Overview: The Senior Vice President, CFO Open Banking, Customer Acquisition & Engagement and CTO is a global finance leader responsible for all financial aspects of the aforementioned business units, including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, business case development, pricing support, asset allocation, strategy support, risk, controls, etc. The person is also a member of the Services Finance Leadership Team.
Role:
Financial Strategy
• Partners with the business unit leader and other areas of the company to formulate and implement business unit strategy.
• Leads capital allocation process and development of business cases for organic investments, including technology and product development for new solutions.
• Teams with the business unit leader to evaluate potential business relationships (business partnerships, investments, etc.) and to evaluate new growth areas from strategic, operational, and financial perspectives.
• Runs special projects on an ad hoc basis to continuously advance the strategy of the Consumer Solutions businesses.
• Supports the business unit in launching new businesses to support growth.
FP&A – Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting
• Leads budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Leads the annual planning process; manages short and long-range financial planning and capital forecasting.
• Works with business unit leaders to set objectives, develop plans, and establish KPIs.
• Reviews and explains significant variances from prior period actuals, budgets, and forecasts.
Financial Analysis
• Manages and/or conducts financial analyses (e.g., product/customer profitability analysis).
• Leads financial analysis to support business strategies and Board of Directors reviews.
• Provides financial analysis related to customer planning activities such as customer contracts and incentives ensuring that business cases for these agreements are financially sound.
Financial Processes & Controls
• Guides financial decisions related to business transactions, including acquisitions and investments by providing local accounting/regulatory advice and by monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures; works with Corporate Controllers team to ensure technical accounting issues are identified and appropriately addressed.
• Leads the development and implementation of streamlined processes to manage the financial needs of the business function.
• Responsible for the review and proper execution of all contracts with financial implications including supplier relationships and external partnerships.
• Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of cost-effective controls to promote data integrity and minimize risk (financial, operational, legal, regulatory, etc.).
• Develops insight into internal and external corporate governance and business issues.
• Develops a deep understanding of current and emerging product lines, services, and programs.
• Maintains key finance-related relationships with other business units, Corporate Finance, and external parties.

• Proven ability to build high performing teams, history of strong leadership, teamwork, and the ability to work in a matrixed organization.
• Experience in leading a team that is geographically dispersed and to be part of a geographically diverse team.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated history of thoughtful risk-taking, business acumen, thought leadership, commitment, and strong sense of urgency.
• Executive presence, ability to influence others; demonstrated intellectual horsepower.
Experience/Education:
• MBA and/or CPA preferred.
• Solid accounting skills, excellent finance skills including modeling and scenario analysis, budget, planning and forecast experience, experience in risk management, and a solid understanding of the business or demonstrated learning agility are required. Operational experience very desirable.
• International experience is a plus

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
