Requisition ID :18222 Employment Type: Full Time Job Category: Executive Work Location: Melville, NY (CSC) DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: + Directs the planning, development, implementation, and support of all information systems and infrastructures necessary to deliver world-class customer support, information management requirements, company growth and achievement of aggressive company wide productivity improvement goals. + Responsible for delivering multiple initiatives both in and outside of IS across multiple functional areas. The role includes maintaining daily operations and enhancing the overall effectiveness of IS through existing systems as well as developing new ones in a cost effective manner. + Partners with the various functional areas to deliver superior operational results consistent with the company’s strategic plan. + Presents initiatives to executive management and gain functional and budgetary approval. + Participate in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner. + Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning and recommend complimentary technology strategies that will enhance value to our customers and improve bottom line performance. + Develops an enterprise strategy that ensures the scalability and long term viability of existing and new technologies/systems. + Enhance the value of the IS department by providing timely and accurate support, performance analysis and technology trends in order to assist senior executives in performing their responsibilities. + Responsible for Applications development for supporting existing systems and for the development of new applications. + Responsible for IS Operations. + Responsible to the day to day operations of the business, maintaining system up-time and quickly resolving any issues that may occur. + Responsible for ensuring that each IS team is aligned with the company’s strategic plan and is driving towards that goal at all times. + Works closely with user community to develop a vision for the future and to then identify and assist in the prioritization of opportunities for improvement. + Provide accurate budget and timeline estimates for proposed solutions and take ownership of those estimates. Ensure full understanding of cost/benefit analysis and ROI . Have clear sales up, cost down or customer service measurements in place to track success of initiative. + Negotiate all major contracts related to IS resulting in improved cost position or improved services. + Ensure that disaster recovery solution is regularly tested and stays current with our changing business. + Become completely familiar with our business: customers, operations and competition. Repeatedly visit our DC’s, branches and spend time with customers. + Build relationships within all functional areas of the company and understand their part of the business to better enable the decision making process of IS. + Manage telecommunications vendors and be familiar with any contracts and tariff obligations. + Maintain confidentiality of necessary information. + Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required. *INDICATES ESSENTIAL DUTIES To perform this job successfully an associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: + Bachelors Degree (BS) Information Technology is required. + A minimum of 10 years related experience is required. + A minimum of 8 years managing associates is required. + Background in technology field is required. + Background in the distribution industry is preferred + Proven leadership skills specifically in the areas of strategic planning and staff building are required. SKILLS: + Sound technical skills, analytical ability, excellent communicator, good judgment and strong operational focus. + Executive presentation skills and ability to develop productive working relationships at all organizational levels with internal and external clients + Demonstrated ability to “architect” the design, development, and successful implementation and/or conversion of information systems and applications. + Track record of improving the effectiveness of IS through improved company performance. + Effective communication skills enabling a collaborative, values-based workplace + Significant negotiation experience related to major vendors such as IBM, AT&T & Sprint. + Knowledge of IBM AS400 platform. + Technical and Management experience with: + AS/400 + Sun systems + WAN & LAN Network Management + Telecommunications; T1’s, T3’s, Frame relay, VPN + Call center Aspect systems + Help desk/User Support + PC’s; Microsoft & Mac WHY MSC?
