**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the Employee Relations function of the Human Resources department and managing Employee Relations staff. The position is expected to provide legal advice to ensure HR regulatory compliance and best practices. As part of a Human Resources department in a rapidly growing bank, the SVP will be expected to provide prompt, prudent and focused legal advice on employment related areas. Performs all duties in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, and all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations where the Bank operates. Provide strategic advice and guidance as a senior HR leader to internal corporate clients. Represent the HR department within the organization to ensure appropriate corporate resources and programs are in place to meet overall business needs. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.
**HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
+ Manage the Employee Relations team within the HR department and demonstrate expertise in HR matters.
+ Provide day-to-day employment law advice to management and business units, with a focus on federal and California employment law.
+ Draft, review, and/or develop HR policies, procedures, processes and employee handbook to ensure consistent application of HR standards and practices throughout the Bank.
+ Manage and review bonus and incentive plans for employees across the Bank.
+ Partner with General Counsel and legal team.
+ Direct and manage HR investigations within the Employee Relations team.
+ Partner with General Counsel and Legal team on whistleblower investigations, which may include participation in or management of the investigations alongside Legal and working with the different constituencies involved.
+ Manages timely and efficient resolution of compliance and liability issues including responding to EEOC/DFEH/Worker’s Comp/other administrative agency complaints, partner with legal where appropriate.
+ Partner with General Counsel and Legal when counsel is required for labor & employment expertise or risk assessment expertise.
+ Partners with outside legal counsel on employment workplace matters.
+ Work across business units and with all levels of management with support partners and business partners to identify and mitigate HR and employment risks.
+ Ensuring the bank is in full legal and regulatory compliance related to workplace matters.
+ Follows policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time; supports the company’s goals and values.

+ Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**
+ Advanced experience, knowledge and training in progressively responsible Company management or supervisory activities.
+ Advanced knowledge of Human Resources, labor and employment laws, related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Company policies and procedures.
+ Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, mainframe computer system, word processing, typing and spreadsheet software programs to meet the needs of the position.
+ Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
+ Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
+ Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department or Company activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Company activities; effectively staff (selecting, training and developing employees); directing employees towards the desired objectives (delegating, motivating, resolving problems); controlling the function (developing performance standards, measuring results, taking corrective action and rewarding employees as appropriate).
+ Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
+ Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.
+ Juris Doctorate (J.D.) required with a minimum of 10+ years of related experience and/or training. Work related experience must consist of a strong Human Resources or employee management background.
+ Active member of the State Bar of California required.

**SALARY RANGE**
The full-time base salary range for this position is $175,000.00 - 220,000.00 USD a year. The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
